UTOPIA PLANET

What this project is about

The Utopia Planet Project is an attempt to make real the desire to create a better world; a Planet in which Utopia becomes more real, little by little, step by step. To this end, a lot of knowledge and real experiences have been collected and are shown on the website, like a kind of “user manual”. Experiences and knowledge shared by diverse people who actually live and work day to day. They suggest proposals and solutions for those problems that are not just the domain of experts, volunteers, associations, etc. They are questions for everybody, because everybody is affected. We deal with questions not discussed and solved in workshops which are part of our daily life. We may belong to a group or an association, we may be specialists in one subject or another; but… ¡We can’t avoid “civic questions”! Everybody eats, does their shopping, spends money, organizes leisure time, and uses transportation, feels, shares values… From these big centres, society is being developed and Utopia can become real.

We don’t aim to be an exclusive project. We know there are more initiatives like ours, and we try to complement what has gone before; offering a website (very often these proposals are printed) directed towards ordinary people. We try to reach all those people of good faith who might be worried about one or two concrete issues and not just publish ‘advanced’ materials for people who already have a consciousness on these issues.

Our proposals are not necessary the best, or the only ones, but the best well-known for us; and we try to suggest the idea that alternatives exist and are possible. But for sure you can find some better ideas; or, at least, wonder about the issue.

This website won’t have a discussion forum; its moderation and organization needs a level or resources we can’t afford. It is, moreover, not our intention to waste energy in discussions in which winning and showing how good we are at discussions seems to be the most important goal. However, every question suggested via e-mail will be answered and considered, if they are explained in a positive way. Questions about difficulties, doubts and technical questions that could need explanation will also be considered to be included in the subject “FAQ’s”.
