There are lots of people who would like to change the World and make it better. Sometimes it is possible to hear about someone who has made big changes in their life, even complete changes. When we hear about such people we feel a mixture of admiration, envy… and a little bit of frustration. This could be because we cannot see ourselves going to the Third World because we have our family and own life here; and we cannot imagine ourselves living in the countryside as we have always been living in the city! Perhaps our training is not good enough to allow us to change jobs. We have too many difficulties to make the “jump to nowhere”. Our social environment works in a conventional way, and we do not want to be isolated, in a kind of “Ghetto.” We wonder what forces us to live this conventional life, and to accept so many things that are so difficult to accept.
It is necessary to find answers to those questions; at the same time, from many different sources it is said that “transformation will come from within ourselves or it will not come”
That is why we are trying to find those opportunities to change for ordinary people. Opportunities may come from that main idea, but should be very specific and clear at the same time, getting to the heart of the commonest and central questions of our lives.
We also try to leave behind the traditional view of “it’s enough to do some volunteering sometimes”. Do not get us wrong; we think volunteering is good. But a wider view is needed, in order to achieve a global point of view. That is why we include so many diverse subjects.
